Rob’s journey into the health and fitness field began while studying as a pre-med biology student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In training for the 2003 Chicago Marathon, Rob developed plantar fasciitis. No longer able continue training, he took the advice of a friend and sought out a personal trainer who specialized in Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT). It was discovered that several muscles in Rob’s left lower leg were not contracting well. He experienced a full recovery in several MAT sessions along with home exercises and was able to complete his training and run his first marathon!
Rob realized that he needed to learn more about the process of injury and recovery that many people like him deal with when initiating an exercise program. It became evident that a personalized approach to fitness, customized to the needs of the individual, is the way everyone should be exercising!
Rob specializes in clients with pre- and post-rehabilitation exercise needs, recovery from joint replacement, spinal fusion, rotator cuff repair, osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune conditions, and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease.
